I’m a Special Olympics staff member, so I know exactly why health screenings are so important. I see the direct impact that these screenings have on so many Special Olympics athletes around the world.
The health and well-being of Special Olympics athletes is always our top priority. Too many athletes don’t have the eyeglasses they need. They don’t get regular dental checkups. And there are still many athletes who may be vulnerable to dangerous diseases that may go undetected due to inadequate screening processes. It’s not right.
Your MATCHED gift in honor of World Health Day will help people with intellectual disabilities access lifesaving health services and strengthen our work to increase inclusive practices in health systems around the world.
We asked some Special Olympics athletes across the country what they do to stay healthy, here’s what they said:
Special Olympics helps athletes like Jen, Lucy, and Annie make healthier choices and habits. With your help, we can make sure everyone with ID has the resources to thrive just like them.
Make a gift to Special Olympics before MIDNIGHT and see it MATCHED to give two times the hope, support, and life-changing opportunities to athletes:
