Meeting Draws Threats from China and Praise from CPAC
Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy met with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen at the Reagan Library in California on Wednesday. The meeting drew threats from leadership in Beijing who condemned the show of alliance between the United States and Taiwan and ordered patrols to inspect ships in the Taiwan Strait. CPAC board member Gordon Chang and CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp had nothing but praise for the meeting in a statement that declared "unwavering commitment to supporting our allies against tyrannical dictatorships."
