Dear Friend,
This was a major week for the progressive movement.
I think the big wins we saw in Chicago and Wisconsin mean something for us right here in New York. I wrote about my thoughts on my Medium page and wanted to make sure that you saw what I had to say.
If you don't have time to read the whole thing, here’s the most important point.
Our state used to lead the way in finding progressive solutions. As voters around the country are choosing this approach, New York needs to learn from these elections.
As we strive to make a better, fairer city and state, I am heartened by the news from the Midwest. The rest of the country is choosing progress. It’s time for New York to move forward too.
Chicago and Wisconsin showed that people want the things we are fighting for like women’s rights, a strong labor movement, and a smart, caring approach to crime.
As you and your families enjoy the holidays this weekend; including Easter, Ramadan, Passover, and Mets Opening Day, I want you to know I am so grateful to have your support. The wind is at our backs.
In service,
Jessica Ramos
