Friend, I want to make sure you don't miss this advocacy opportunity.
If we act now, we can help the Biden administration stop future fossil fuel projects like Willow.
Right now, the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) is accepting public comments on greenhouse gas pollution guidance that can help the Biden administration better implement the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and choose a safer climate future.
A strong "climate test" could stop the next Willow—but we only have until midnight to push for it.

Subject: Here's a no-brainer,
Friend,
Massive fossil fuel projects have no place in our clean energy transition. Yet, earlier this month, the Biden administration approved ConocoPhillips' Willow Project, citing legal concerns as the primary justification.
Well, we can give President Biden a tool to help stop the next Willow—and every other climate pollution mega-project that needs federal environmental review. It's called the climate test, and it would give government agencies a clear red flag if a major energy infrastructure project is incompatible with a 1.5 degree Celsius climate future.
Right now, the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) has an opportunity to embed a climate test into federal agencies' environmental review processes. The only problem? CEQ's guidance isn't strong enough to meet the urgency of the climate crisis. We have less than two weeks to urge CEQ to include the strongest possible version of a climate test. Send a pre-filled comment right now to ensure a safer climate future!

A strong climate test will mean that all federal agencies will be encouraged to use the same science-based standard and keep us on track to meet our climate and policy commitments. Your input can mean the difference between the status quo or a future where the Biden administration is better equipped and empowered to reject fossil fuel projects.
It's a no-brainer—the energy infrastructure we build should support our climate goals, not undermine them. Thank you for using your voice to ensure the cost of our future energy projects takes into account the cost to our climate.
