Dear John ,

God is good.

This evening, a federal judge in Texas ruled that the abortion pill should never have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

In his ruling in the case Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. U.S. Food and Drug Administration , Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk relied on science and the law, acknowledging that the abortion pill destroys “unborn humans” and causes harm to many mothers.

The abortion pill (mifepristone) was originally approved by the FDA on a fast-tracked basis in the year 2000. In the more than two decades since its approval, the drug has claimed the lives of millions of American children. Today, more than half of all children killed by abortion in the U.S. die from the abortion pill. Not even children in states where abortion is illegal are safe from abortion drugs, because they are still being illegally trafficked in the mail across state lines nationwide.

Human Coalition submitted an amicus brief ( [link removed] ) in support of the plaintiffs in this case and shared our unique insight into how the abortion drug industry is harming children and women – women we serve and speak to every day. Their harrowing stories, shared in the brief, reveal the abortion industry’s disregard for the lives of children and wellbeing of women. The ruling included references to Human Coalition clients and their horrific experiences with the drugs.

What does this mean for abortion in America?

Judge Kacsmaryk’s ruling requires the FDA to pause its approval of the abortion pill. When the ruling is appealed by FDA , the case will go to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals for further consideration. When his ruling goes into effect, it will be illegal to distribute the abortion drug.

Not surprisingly, the state of Washington had its own, yet more limited, pro-abortion counter-case on standby. Within an hour of Judge Kacsmaryk’s ruling, a federal judge there ordered FDA not to change the status quo of the abortion pill.

The dueling cases represent long -awaited movement and a huge step forward in the decades-long effort to recall FDA’s egregious approval of mifepristone. The battle may ultimately rise to the Supreme Court.

Please join us in prayer that soon, every child in the womb will be safe from deadly abortion drugs. Please also pray for the safety of the court, staff and family members who have undergone immense public scrutiny and threats.

I am wishing you and yours a blessed Good Friday and the hope of the Resurrection,
