BREAKING NEWS: A federal judge just ordered the FDA to reverse its approval of a safe and essential abortion medication in all 50 states.

Mifepristone, a key drug used in medication abortion, was approved by the FDA in 2000, and has since been used by millions to safely terminate pregnancy and treat miscarriage. In fact, it's used in more than half of all abortions in the United States.

Today, after a baseless lawsuit filed by an anti-choice hate group, a Trump-appointed judge in Texas has ordered the FDA to suspend its approval for mifepristone in seven days. That's right -- after more than two decades of approval, the FDA is now being ordered to change its stance.

This ruling is an attempt to ban the use of mifepristone in all 50 states.

We knew that conservative extremists wouldn't stop once they'd overturned Roe v. Wade, and they won't stop at banning mifepristone, either. This ruling is absolutely devastating for women and families across the country, but it's not the end of these attacks.

The truth is that anti-choice Republicans won't stop until they've banned every type of abortion in every state, county, and town in America -- or until we stop them.

Here at EMILYs List, we work hard to elect women at every level of government and in every corner of the country who are as committed as we are to defending the right to choose. Donate now to help our candidates protect and restore reproductive freedom everywhere:
