Yesterday, ProPublica published an investigative piece detailing Justice Clarence Thomas’ lavish vacations and opulent travel funded by billionaire and GOP mega-donor Harlan Crow.
For decades, Crow has heaped riches on Thomas, taking him galavanting through Indonesia on a superyacht, giving him use of a private jet, putting him up at a resort property in the Adirondacks, and even paying his wife Ginni for her work for right-wing groups.
It’s unethical. It’s immoral. It reeks of corruption. And under current law, there’s NOTHING we can do about it.
That’s why Hank is leading the fight in Congress to impose rules on Supreme Court justices that would stop this kind of pay-to-play politicking in our nation’s highest court — rules like the ones every other member of the federal judiciary must follow.
