John, I had to be sure you saw this news:

CNN: Senate votes to repeal Iraq War power authorizations, 20 years after US invasion

Last week, the Senate voted to repeal authorizations for the use of military force against Iraq – a moment that I have been working toward for over 20 years. Because no one, not even the president, should have unlimited war powers.

I am the only candidate in this race who voted against giving the President the authority to wage endless war – first in Afghanistan in 2001, and again in 2002 in Iraq.

And I have been working every day since then to repeal the AUMF. I got the repeal passed by the House in 2021, but it stalled in the Senate.

Today, I welcome this major step toward stopping endless war and beginning the process of healing that we should've begun two decades ago, but this was not the first mistake the Senate has made, and it will not be the last.

That's why I'm running for the Senate as the proven progressive champion who gets things done – and I hope you'll join my team, John. Because I have a proven track record of fighting for what I know is right. And if you help me make it to the Senate, you can count on me to continue this fight for the things that matter most.

So I have to ask: Will you chip in $5 or more right now to help me win my primary and build a progressive future for all? I'm ready to fight for you with everything I've got, but political experts have said that I'm at a SERIOUS fundraising deficit compared to my opponents, and I need every dollar I can get to close this gap.

Thank you for being a part of my historic movement for change.
