Friend, I won’t sugarcoat it -- the fight to keep what abortion rights remain in a post-Roe world just got more difficult.
Moments ago, a Trump-appointed Texas federal judge ruled to ban access nationwide to mifepristone, a safe and effective drug that medical professionals have prescribed to women for decades.

This ruling will especially hurt women in states like Texas that have been overrun by far-right extremists and draconian forced-birth policies. To the rest of the nation: please be assured that the majority of us Texans stand today with our heads hung in shame that this backwards, heart-wrenching decision was made by one of our own.
Texas Democrats stand firmly behind the Biden Administration in their efforts to appeal this absurdly dangerous ruling. Each and every person in this country has the right to decide if and when to start a family -- and Democrats across the country know that this right should never be infringed upon.
And friend, it’s imperative that we don’t back down from the fight to ensure every woman in this country has the right to do with her body as she chooses. There’s strength in numbers -- will you add your name to our petition declaring that access to abortion is a human right? [[link removed]]
