John --
We and our hosts the Tanderup family, and members of the Ponca Nation, are honored to invite all of our friends to join us this year on Saturday, April 29th for the Tenth Annual Planting of Sacred Ponca Corn, on Ponca Nation land situated with the Tanderup farm near Neligh, Nebraska — that crosses the Ponca Trail of Tears and path of the now defunct Keystone XL pipeline project.
We're excited to announce that for this year's ten-year anniversary planting, a traditional Indigenous meal (yes, including frybread!) will be prepared and offered by members of the Ponca Nation traveling up from Oklahoma to join us!
As in recent years, the Cowboy Indian Alliance and the Nebraska Easement Action Team is also inviting impacted landowners on the new proposed carbon pipeline routes -- which would pass through some of the same counties (and properties, even) as Keystone XL -- to join our annual tradition.

Bold will also host a ceremony and tree-planting to honor Joye Braun during this year's event, at the Tanderups' Pipeline Fighters Arboretum where others have been planted to honor Pipeline Fighters who are no longer with us.
Joye was a leader with us from the beginning to the end. The tree will grow just like she helped grow the pipeline fighter movement.
Joye was the National Pipeline organizer for the Indigenous Environmental Network, IEN's representative for the People Vs Fossil Fuels Coalition, a member of Bold's Pipeline Fighter Hub panel of Experts, and was a proud servant for her people as a grassroots advocate for climate justice.
Joye is known to be the first "camper" at Standing Rock, and also prayed with us at the Ponca Trail of Tears Spiritual Camp established on the Tanderup farm on the proposed Keystone XL pipeline route in Nebraska.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, April 29 for the 10th Annual Planting of Sacred Ponca Corn!
Thanks for standing with us.
