As you may have heard, a federal judge's recent ruling has put millions of Americans at risk of losing insurance coverage for STI, HIV, and cancer screenings. It's outrageous to imagine us going back to an era when so many families struggled to afford this critical care.

I'm sick and tired of Republican judges putting folks' healthcare at risk. They've shown zero respect for precedent or any recognition of the real-world damage they are causing.

The only way to address this is through new legislation — to strengthen the Affordable Care Act and ensure that people's preventative care remains covered. But the hard truth is that as long as Kevin McCarthy holds a majority, the odds of things getting done are close to zero.

I was first elected to Congress by defeating a Republican incumbent who had voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Since then, I've turned back two strong challenges from opponents who would've fully supported the GOP's ongoing efforts to gut the law.

My district is still a top Republican target, and my constituents deserve better than a representative who would vote to take away their healthcare.
