With allegations of misconduct mounting, we need real reform now.

Whitehouse for Senate

Team,

Luxury yacht excursions with billionaires. Frequent use of a private jet. Decadent vacations at exclusive playgrounds for the wealthy from Indonesia to the Adirondacks.

You might think this sounds like a description from “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous,” but according to a new bombshell report from ProPublica, it’s just another day in the life of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who has received a long list of lavish gifts and accommodations from a multi-billionaire Republican mega-donor.

I am leading the charge to create an enforceable code of ethics for the Supreme Court, and I need you standing with me. Add your name now to show your support for investigating the apparent ethical lapses at the Supreme Court and creating a system of accountability.

The news about Justice Thomas’ undisclosed gifts comes on the heels of multiple reports of ethical problems at the Court, from a secretive outside influence campaign by an anti-abortion group that gained access to the justices to Justice Thomas’ refusal to recuse himself from cases related to his wife’s activities around the January 6 insurrection.

Other federal judges have to follow a strict code of conduct. They have a process for investigating violations. The Supreme Court should not be immune to accountability.

Until we enact real ethics reform at the Supreme Court, dark money interests will continue to exert extraordinary influence over our democracy and the public’s faith in our institutions will continue to slip. Please join my effort to help ensure the Supreme Court is working in the interests of the American people – not billionaire Republican megadonors.

Thank you,

Sheldon Whitehouse
