John,
Last month, The New York Times reported that the Biden administration was considering reinstating the Trump-era policy of detaining asylum-seeking families in prison-like camps along the southern border.1
Since then over 100 members of Congress have signed on to a letter urging President Biden to "maintain your commitment to not detaining families and children and not return to a cruel policy of the past."2
We don't know exactly when a decision by the administration on this policy may come.
But we do know that raising our voices now is our best chance to make sure President Biden lives up to his campaign promise of putting an end to cruel and inhumane Trump-era immigration policies like family detention.
Will you sign this petition right now and call on President Biden to not reinstate family detention for migrant families? A decision from the White House could come any day, and we need to make sure we keep up the pressure.

In 2020, voters rejected Trump's inhumane policies and delivered the presidency to this administration on the promise of jobs and care for our communities.
We rejected family detention under the last administration — and we need to reject it under this one too.
How we treat people coming here fleeing poverty and violence is part of what defines us as a country.
Stand with WFP champions including Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Rep. Cori Bush, Rep. Greg Casar and more and let's send a message to President Biden: Don't turn this country backwards by reinstating inhumane policies like family detention at the border.
