Hey John, did you
catch Lynese’s email from earlier this week?

Equality can’t wait. That’s why Cori, in partnership with Rep. Ayanna
Pressley, recently launched the first-ever ERA caucus.

This historic caucus — and the multi-racial, multi-generational grassroots
movement we’re building — will be exactly what we need to get the Equal
Rights Amendment across the finish line and achieve constitutional
equality for all.

the Equal Rights Amendment and the renewed push to establish
constitutional gender equality.

----Forwarded Message----

I have some exciting news to share:

Cori, alongside Rep. Ayanna Pressley, launched a new Congressional Caucus
for the Equal Rights Amendment 100 years after the amendment was first
introduced in Congress.

Black women have been on the forefront of the fight for equal rights in
our country, so it is fitting that this renewed push to establish
constitutional gender equality is being led by Cori, Ayanna, and other
members of the Congressional Black Caucus.

This caucus will aim to:

* Affirm the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th amendment to the
Constitution;
* Raise awareness within Congress to establish constitutional gender
equality as a national priority;
* Partner with an inclusive multi-generational, multi-racial coalition
of advocates, activists, scholars, organizers, and public figures; and
* Center the people who stand to benefit the most from gender equality,
including Black and brown women, LGBTQ+ people, people seeking
abortion care, and other marginalized groups.

When the U.S. Constitution was first drafted, women, Black and brown
folks, and all marginalized groups were intentionally written out. This
exclusion has persisted for almost the entire life of our nation.

Equality is long overdue,
John. That’s why Cori is
helping lead the fight to finally publish the Equal Rights Amendment.
