Upcoming events, and more!   Irving, TX – I want to take a moment to wish a Happy Passover and a Happy Easter to all who observe. Thank you to everyone who joined us for our North Texas Service Academies Forum over the weekend! As a reminder, our office is still accepting applications for nominations. For more information, please visit: [link removed]. I recently had the pleasure of giving a nighttime tour of our Capitol to former Dallas County Commissioner and Dallas business leader Maurine Dickey. Thanks for visiting, Maurine! As a reminder, our office is happy to help schedule tours of the Capitol and other D.C. monuments for #TX24 residents. For more information, please visit our here. Schedule a Tour We will never forget our heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms. This week, we observed Gold Star Spouses Day, which is dedicated to honoring the husbands and wives of our fallen service members. Gas prices have gone up nearly 47% since President Biden took office. As you may know, last week, I voted for H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act. This is an important first step to lower prices at the pump and reduce energy bills. According to a new study, our bill is projected to save households $795 per year. I urge the U.S. Senate to move quickly and pass this critical legislation and provide relief for our families. Texas-24 Work of the Week The Biden Administration has attempted to circumvent Congress's constitutional authority to approve trade agreements. This week, I continued to push back on key trade issues -- such as the Mexican government's egregious trade violations -- and demanded a formal response from the U.S. Trade Representative, Ambassador Katherine Tai. It’s time for the Biden Administration to provide answers and accountability for American workers. Texas-24 Hometown Hero Our Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Robert Pinholt, who served our country in the U.S. Army, spending 16 months in eastern Afghanistan. Now, as the co-founder and CEO of Coppell-based Claymore Operations, Robert provides a mentorship program to prepare our active-duty service members for civilian life. I want to thank Robert for being a guiding light for the brave men and women who serve our country. Do you know someone who goes above and beyond for our community? Nominate a Texas-24 Hometown Hero here. Congressional Art Competition As your Representative in Congress, I have the privilege of sponsoring the Congressional Art Competition every spring. The winner will have their art displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, and it is a great way to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in our North Texas community. If you are a Texas-24 high school student, please visit [link removed] for more information. Elementary Art Showcase and Forum I’m looking forward to this year’s Elementary Art Showcase and Forum! This year’s theme is the Sights of U.S. Capitol Hill. As a reminder, the deadline to register is Wednesday, April 19th. For more information, please visit: [link removed]. Rep.
