Last night Tennesse Republicans voted to expel 2 Black lawmakers for taking a stand against the gun violence happening in their communities.
What they didn’t do was expel the white lawmaker who took the exact same stand and was accused of the exact same things.
This is racism, plain and simple. But can we be surprised that racism is alive and well in the state that founded the KKK?
Tennesse Republicans should be ashamed of their disgusting behavior.
For over six years, we’ve been fighting day in and day out to Build Black Political Power and create a truly representative democracy — one that works for all Americans — and we hope you’ll agree with us when we say that moments like this make it even clearer that this fight is more important than ever.
