Hello and happy Friday!
We hope everyone had a good week here in the Lowcountry - there is nothing better than this beautiful Springtime weather!
We started the week by meeting with the Leading Ladies Empowerment Group to talk to teen girls about their struggles and how to overcome any adversity and obstacles life throws our way. We shared some tears too.
This week we joined Americans for Prosperity for a townhall about our States Reform Act. This common-sense bill would deschedule cannabis and provide a responsible framework empowering states to control cannabis reforms. The States Reform Act protects kids, protects veterans and protects those with the most debilitating medical conditions.
We sent a letter this week to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) pressing for information on the Administration’s implementation of a law designed to aid federal agencies to verify what work tasks should be deployed to the private sector.
We introduced a bill called The Women’s Healthcare Anti-Death Penalty Construction Act to categorize the death penalty for women who seek an abortion as “cruel and unusual punishment.” No woman should be sentenced to death for seeking an abortion, that’s just crazy. Read more here.
We joined Fox Business to talk about the Pentagon downplaying reports of the Chinese Spy Balloon - whether they collected intelligence over U.S. military installations. The Administration’s delayed response put our U.S. intelligence in danger.
This past Wednesday was the start of Passover. To all who celebrate here in the Lowcountry and across the nation, Chag Pesach Sameach! May peace always be a guest in your home.
We also held our Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of our new Mount Pleasant office! We had a huge crowd of constituents come out, along with Mt. Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie, members of our local council, and the Mt. Pleasant Chamber.
We hold events all over the Lowcountry, and look forward to holding our next one soon. Stay subscribed to our newsletter to hear more or follow our Eventbrite page by clicking here.
As always, our office is here to lend a hand whenever we can. Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to be heard on any issue at any time. We’re here to help.
It’s an immense honor to serve each and every one of you.
Have a great weekend and Happy Easter to all those celebrating this weekend!
Sincerely,
|
