April 2023 Update from the Frontlines
Dear John,
The marine conservation work you help support is getting major accolades all over the world.
Just this weekend, Brut Media debuted an episode on Operation Milagro that was filmed earlier this year on Sea Shepherd ships. The episode highlights the focus and dedication of our crew as they work around the clock with the Mexican Navy to protect the Vaquita from the illegal fishing that has brought the world’s most endangered marine mammal to the edge of extinction. You can watch the full episode

This Monday on France 5 the first episode of the “Planet Killers” series was released, featuring our Operation Milagro campaign. You can watch the trailer (in French)

Updates From Operation Revillagigedo
From late January to late March, Sea Shepherd completed our first two runs of Operation Revillagigedoes. Nicknamed “Revilla,” this campaign boosts protection measures for the North Pacific Humpback whale population that visits the Revillagigedo Archipelago to reproduce and breed. Data on the status of this population and its distribution, health, genetics, and behavior is critical to effective conservation actions in Mexico and other countries. Sea Shepherd supports our Mexican Government partners CONANP and park rangers by monitoring Revillagigedo's submarine ecosystems in conjunction with our whale research activities. Expert divers inventory species of fish, corals, invertebrates, and other marine organisms to evaluate the health of the park. Sea Shepherd crews were thrilled to encounter moms, calves, and singers, and the entire campaign is focused on conservation actions to help protect the whales and countless other species. Check out a 9 minute video about Revilla
