John,
"April showers bring May flowers."
You know what else brings May flowers? Good environmental legislation - and Connecticut is ripe with it. In celebration of Earth Month we would like to take a minute to look at the garden of positive impacts we have sown...
But before we dig in to how Democrats are taking action to protect the environment, will you help us in these efforts by making a contribution today? [[link removed]]

Connecticut is especially vulnerable to climate change and is taking measurable steps to address the issue. That’s why the Democratically controlled legislature has adopted aggressive proposals to protect our state:
*
Connecticut
is
one
of
11
states
in
the
northeast
participating
in
the
first
mandatory
cap-and-trade
program
in
the
US
to
limit
carbon
dioxide
emissions
from
the
power
sector.
*
Connecticut
has
adopted
a
Renewable
Portfolio
Standard
for
the
state
to
produce
40%
of
power
from
renewable
energy
by
2030
.
*
Connecticut
established
a
“Green
Bank”
to
provide
financing
for
renewable
energy
and
energy
efficiency
projects.
Cap-and-trade, renewable energy, green banking - these are all policies panned by Republicans. But Democrats believe in a sustainable future - one our kids and future generations can be proud of.
By making a contribution of $10, $35, $50, or whatever you can afford today, you’re helping elect leaders who actually believe in climate science and are implementing policies for a sustainable future. [[link removed]]
I think we’re fine to say on behalf of Mother Earth, thank you for chipping in today [[link removed]] to help protect our “pale blue dot.”
Best,
CT Dems
