Listen to President Trump on Focus on the Family’s Broadcast

By: Jim Daly

It’s always encouraging to return to the office from the March for Life and swap stories with members of the team who attended the rally, whether for the first time or the tenth.

President Trump’s decision to show up in person turned everything on its head. From metal detectors to Secret Service on the roof-tops, the atmosphere was super-charged last Friday.

In fact, out of concern for security, Focus on the Family was even required to vacate its tent – and with it all our special hats and cookies we intended to dispense to our guests. Fortunately, we were able to distribute them on the sidewalks surrounding the National Mall.

But before last week’s historic gathering fades into just pictures and memories, I wanted to share some highlights of it with you on today’s Focus on the Family radio program – including the wonderful address from President Trump.

Super Bowl Ad Featuring Abortion Survivors and Pro-Life Message Silenced by Fox
By: Brittany Raymer

The Super Bowl is only four days away, and it will likely be the biggest entertainment event of the year with nearly 100 million households tuning in. The pro-life organization Faces of Choice wanted to capitalize on this incredible opportunity and created a 30-second Super Bowl ad featuring the faces of abortion survivors.

Despite being in contact with Fox about the ad for the last six months, Faces of Choice has still been unable to get an answer from Fox about whether or not the ad could be aired.

It’s all profoundly disappointing to Lyric Gillett, the founder and executive director of the organization.

Justice Thomas “In His Own Words” – Director Michael Pack Gives Insight into New Film
By: Zachary Mettler

The soon to be released film, Created Equal: Clarence Thomas In His Own Words, is a documentary that features Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas telling his story directly to the American people. The movie was filmed over a six-month period from over 30 hours of interviews with the Justice.

Filmmaker Michael Pack is producing the movie with Manifold Productions, Inc., an independent film and television production company that he founded in 1977.

In an interview with The Daily Citizen, Pack said the movie was born out of Justice Thomas’ dismay that his reputation was being defined by his enemies, and that his jurisprudence and legacy were being tarnished with outright lies.

The Challenger Disaster 34 Years Later: ‘To Touch the Face of God.’

By: Bruce Hausknecht

On January 28, 1986, the space shuttle Challenger exploded 73 seconds into its takeoff from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and millions of Americans, including schoolchildren, watched it on live television as it happened. It was one of those national moments where people still ask “Where were you when you saw or heard about the Challenger?”

I certainly remember. I was in a Denver conference room with clients when a co-worker burst in with a breathless, incredulous report of the disaster. I don’t remember much about the rest of the meeting, which I’m sure didn’t last much longer. But I remember being glued to a television screen for  the rest of the day as video of the doomed flight was endlessly replayed while anchors and talking heads struggled to explain what happened.

New Study: Liberal Elites Talk Left but Live Right
By: Sara Bess Kemeny

Hollywood may celebrate non-traditional family structures on shows like FriendsSingle Parents, and Raven’s Home, but the Tinseltown titans’ own families more closely resemble that on Leave it to Beaver.

In a new study, Brad Wilcox and Wendy Wang found that California has a larger share of intact families than the rest of the United States. Three neighborhoods in the heart of Hollywood have a near 0% single parenthood rate. Forty other California neighborhoods, which include some of the most elite and liberal, are composed almost entirely of two-parent families.

Wilcox and Wang note when it comes to family culture, California elites often “talk left but live right.”
