Speaker Packard to be honored with "The Governor Meldrim Thomson Jr. Principle Above Politics Chairman’s Award"
Concord, NH - NHGOP Chairman Chris Ager released the following statement announcing that House Speaker Sherman Packard of Londonderry will be the recipient of this years Governor Meldrim Thomson Jr. Principle Above Politics Chairman’s Award. "I can't think of anyone who embodies the principals of Governor Thomson more than Speaker Sherm Packard. Sherm has devoted his life to our state and has served her citizens and our Party for more than 30 years. During one of the most trying times for the State House, Sherm selflessly took the gavel and has led the New Hampshire House with both strength and grace. This is a well deserved honor for someone who has given so much to our State and shows up every day to protect our New Hampshire Advantage." ### “The Governor Meldrim Thomson Jr. Principle Above Politics Chairman's Award” is presented each year to an individual who has demonstrated courageous and principled leadership. Nominations may be made by any New Hampshire Republican. The recipient is chosen by the State Chairman in close consultation with the children living in New Hampshire of Governor and Mrs. Meldrim Thomson Jr. Speaker Packard will receive the award during the upcoming Amos Tuck Dinner on Friday, April 14th.
