This is wild...

Tonight political "leaders" put guns over people and democracy to avoid saving lives from gun violence, as they expelled Representative Justin Jones and Representative Justin Pearson from the Tennessee legislature for being outspoken on gun violence in the wake of recent tragedies in Tennessee.

Instead of focusing on meaningful legislative solutions, the Republican-led Tennessee House has chosen to ignore the voices of over 200,000 Tennesseans who elected these representatives in favor of targeting and punishing these courageous lawmakers for their efforts to amplify the voices of their constituents and the protesters who demand change.

We can not stand by as they compromise our democracy and racially target Black leaders fighting to save our communities from this crisis.

We have been working with leaders in Tennessee since the recent tragedies and will continue the fight to save lives at all costs.
