Folks: Without the protections of Roe v. Wade , millions of women no longer have the freedom to make choices about their health and future.
That's why my colleagues and I just reintroduced the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance (EACH) Act , a bill that would guarantee abortion coverage without restrictions for those who rely on Medicaid and other federal health plans.
This bill would end the Hyde Amendment, lifting restrictions to reproductive health care that impacts millions of Americans — especially those struggling to make ends meet, people of color, young people, and immigrants.
And while Coloradans are safe from the right-wing assault on our civil liberties, not every American is so fortunate. For pregnant women from Texas to Wisconsin, and our neighbors in Utah and Kansas, basic reproductive care is banned or almost entirely inaccessible today.

I believe that a woman's health care decisions should be between herself and her doctor, not the government. Colorado is a safe haven for women seeking reproductive care, but women across the country are already facing the consequences of a post-Roe landscape.
These harmful policies make it harder, if not impossible, for patients to afford an abortion — denying millions their reproductive rights. And recent data shows that 62 percent of voters support lifting federal abortion coverage restrictions and believe Medicaid should cover the procedure.
That's why we need to pass the EACH Act in Congress and protect reproductive rights for all Americans. I'm working on that now, but I need your help to make it happen.
