This Congress I’m looking forward to my work on a newly-formed Regional Leadership Council – an initiative announced by Leader Hakeem Jeffries earlier this year.

With twelve of my colleagues, our goal is both to highlight the various legislative wins of the last two years and to showcase the on-the-ground rollout of said legislation.

And today, I want to lift up the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which became law last summer.

Now, onto the best part – how the IRA works for all:

Puts money back into the pockets of Americans through rebates and incentives when you switch to greener, more efficient cars, appliances, and home energy systems

Caps the cost of insulin at $35/month for seniors

Creates good-paying, union jobs across the economy

Lowers healthcare costs for millions of Americans covered under the ACA

Helps reduce emissions in every sector of our economy — including provisions to use American made goods

Allows Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices for the first time in history

Makes the tax code fairer by making sure millionaires, billionaires, and corporations pay their fair share. Important note: for families making less than $400,000, taxes will not increase one single cent!
