Remarkably, 2023 is GGWash's 15th anniversary.
Since 2008, GGWash has grown from a collective of volunteers running a blog to an incorporated nonprofit with nine staff -- and, yes, many amazing volunteers -- whose work spans policy, journalism, and community engagement.

We're hosting a Spring Soirée from 6:00-9:00 pm on Thursday, April 27, at Hook Hall in Northwest DC. Tickets include food, drinks, and a fantastic night out in recognition of this milestone occasion.

Over the course of 15 years, together, we've changed the way thousands of people think and talk about land use, housing, and transportation. We've published thousands upon thousands of stories. We've shaped new laws and inspired residents to run for local office.
We've built a movement.
Every day, we're working toward the vision of this region as a place where housing is abundant and affordable and it's safe and easy to get around without a car; a region where land use, housing, and transportation decisions advance racial, social, and environmental justice.
