Trump’s campaign raised more money around federal indictment than presidential announcement
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign reportedly raised $7 million between his indictment on March 30 and arraignment on Tuesday, dwarfing the total fundraising generated by his announcement in November.

Make America Great Again Inc. spent $1.5 million on TV production and advertising opposing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the 2024 presidential election.
“He’s typically at or near the top, but in ’22, the money he gave went nowhere,” said Sheila Krumholz, executive director of OpenSecrets, a nonpartisan campaign finance research group in Washington. “It’s almost misleading to call him the top donor because he had almost no impact on the cycle.”
According to an OpenSecrets analysis, “Intuit has spent more than $41 million on lobbying since 1998” and “has enlisted dozens of ‘revolving door’ lobbyists … including multiple former members of Congress.”
Meanwhile, oil and gas companies had spent more than $500 million during the first two years of Barack Obama’s presidency lobbying against any energy legislation, according to an OpenSecrets analysis.
