Dear Friend,

A federal judge is about to make a ruling that could stop the distribution
of the abortion pill mifepristone nationwide.(1)

Walgreens is already preventing mifepristone from being dispensed in
almost half the country, and now the fate of the abortion pill is so murky
that the pharmaceutical company that's responsible for distributing the
medication has decided to stop releasing it to any pharmacy in more than
30 states until the law is clarified.(2)

For more than 20 years, mifepristone has been one of the one of the safest
medications on the market, and more than half of all abortions use it. The
Biden administration’s FDA has the power to protect the abortion pill and
make it available, and we are demanding it happens.

pill. Will you rush an emergency donation to protect reproductive rights?

The abortion pill is safer than Tylenol, safer than Viagra. That’s why
President Biden signed an executive order allowing the medication to be
prescribed by telehealth and giving pharmacies the ability to distribute
the pills.(3)

That a judge with a history of anti-abortion opinions in Texas would agree
to hear a challenge to mifepristone -- which has been approved since 2000
-- is nothing less than outrageous.

Mifepristone is used in 53% of all abortions, and people in rural areas
and red states especially depend on consistent access to the
medication.(4) If the pill is taken off the market, millions of people
will not have access to abortion anywhere near them, and the abortion
clinics that are available will be completely overwhelmed. The effort to
ban mifepristone is an effort to ban abortion, full stop.

Courage California has been fighting for reproductive rights for more than
a decade, and we are not going to stand by now. We are funding a billboard
demanding that Walgreens distribute mifepristone everywhere it’s legal,
and we are beginning a wide-scale campaign to convince the FDA to direct
the distribution of mifepristone and issue emergency authorization if the
judge’s ruling comes down against the abortion pill.
