These past two months have been quite a journey, friend.

I jumped headfirst into my duties as Chair – putting out a survey to find out how we can better support our county parties, working with our Vice Chair Gregory on our Chair Ambassador program, leading my first State Central Committee meeting, and crisscrossing the state to listen to fellow Democrats.

That might sound like a lot, but my team and I are just getting started. We’ve got big plans to improve our data and technology so Democratic candidates can use their time and resources as effectively as possible, break through the noise and misinformation so everyone can hear about the good work Democrats are doing, and organize in every corner of our state.

I know this won’t be easy. We’re up against an extreme batch of Republicans who’ve lost sight of what it means to work for everyday Iowans.

We need a strong Democratic party that creates strong coalitions and provides those at the grassroots level with the tools they need to elect leaders who will deliver for all of us.

The people of Iowa want leaders who understand their struggles and want to fix the problems we’re facing – not create more problems to score political points.
