Friend, join us in celebrating International Asexuality Awareness Day!

International Asexuality Awareness Day celebrates the spectrum of asexual identities and the experiences of asexual, often called Ace, individuals.

What does it mean to be Ace?

It’s important to remember that asexuality is an umbrella term and exists on a spectrum. Ace individuals may have little or no interest in having sex even though they may desire emotionally intimate relationships. Within the Ace community, there are many ways to identify, like demisexual, grey-A, or queerplatonic, among others. Ace people may also identify as hetero-, homo-, bi-, or pan-romantic depending on whom they are attracted to.

How can you support the asexual community?

The Ace community is an important part of the LGBTQ community and it’s important to remember that love does not equal sex. Whether you identify as Ace or you’re an ally, educating yourself and others about the community is a great way to show your support and elevate the voices of Ace young people around the world.

We have various resources for you to learn more about, including the Coming Out Handbook. Together, we can create a world where LGBTQ young people can feel confident, validated, and loved as their true, authentic selves.
