** "The Biden Administration is so intent on catering to the environmental lobbyists who want to “flip the switch” to green energy they forget that when the sun goes down and the wind stops blowing, Americans still need to heat their homes, run their farms, and provide for their families."

It's hard to deliver a vehicle when it runs out of juice before you can drive it off the lot!

(4/3/23) reports: "The GMC Hummer EV was developed at an extremely rapid pace, but it's becoming less clear as time goes on whether that's paying off. The vehicle has suffered a handful of issues, many relating to water going where it shouldn't, including the high-voltage battery. Now, those problems may be catching up with the super-fast, 'supertruck.' Just two Hummer EVs have been delivered to customers this year, and it's unclear when deliveries will ramp back up. It's not clear if the slow rollout is related to a stop-sale that affects the truck from last year regarding water finding its way into the EV's batteries. We asked GMC for clarification, but haven't yet heard back. We'll update this story if we hear back. GM told the Wall Street Journal last month that only 124 unsold trucks remained with the issue, so presumably there's a supply of trucks waiting for a new home. GM said further the fix is rolling it out to new builds, but despite plenty of trucks being built—around 500 in
February alone—sales are down 98% compared to this quarter last year when GMC delivered 99 vehicles."

Death panels looking to alleviate anesthesiologists' "eco-grief" coming to a hospital near you.
** Washington Post ([link removed])
(4/5/23) column: "Physicians, nurses and other front-line providers know firsthand the health impacts of climate change. Air pollution exacerbates asthma and emphysema; extreme heat worsens heart and kidney conditions; and rising temperatures increase the occurrence of a wide range of illnesses, including mosquito-borne infections and depression. That’s why it’s so shocking to learn that health care itself is a major contributor to climate change...Brian Chesebro, an Oregon-based anesthesiologist who serves as medical director of environmental stewardship at Providence, had this “aha” moment in 2016. At the time, he told me, he was going through a period of 'eco-grief' about the state of the Earth. 'Instead of spiraling down, I realized that my greatest opportunity to advance environmental stewardship was through my job as a physician,' he said. 'I could address it in my own practice, then, as a physician-leader in my hospital, inspire change in my colleagues.' His work as an
anesthesiologist turned out to be the right launchpad. That is because some anesthetic gases commonly used in operating rooms are extremely potent greenhouse gases."
