Dear John,

We all deserve drinking water that is free of toxins and pollutants that harm the health of children, families and communities. However, harmful chemicals called PFAS (per and polyfluorinated alkyl substances) have increasingly been found in the water we drink every day.

These toxic ‘forever’ chemicals are all around us, and can remain in our bodies and the environment indefinitely. That’s why we applaud the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) latest efforts to protect us from these harmful chemicals.

Show your support for stronger protections by signing the PFAS Clean Water Petition, today! [link removed]

The EPA has an opportunity to protect the public from harmful chemicals found in the food and water we rely on. Over time, PFAS exposure can lead to a wide range of serious health effects as it accumulates in the body, including:

- Increased risk of cancers.

- Decreased vaccine response in children.

- Increased risk of high blood pressure.

- Declines in infant birth weight.

But it doesn’t have to be this way! By establishing a strong, enforceable, national drinking water standard we can aggressively confront these harmful chemicals. And, with support from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, would help reduce the cost for water utilities to treat the water.

This is our opportunity to get ‘forever’ chemicals out of our drinking water. Take action and show that our communities are ready for a PFAS-free future. [link removed]

Thank you for taking action,

Wes Rogerson
