Inside the Minds of Trump’s Lawyers—How the Defense Will Unfold - Now that the indictment has been unsealed, and Donald Trump has pled not guilty, we can predict how the former president might defend himself in the coming months. In broad terms, the 34-count indictment alleges that Trump, acting “with intent to defraud,” caused numerous false entries to be made in the business records of the Trump Organization throughout 2017 “with intent to defraud and intent to commit another crime and aid and conceal the commission thereof.” The other crime, according to the prosecutors’ statement of facts, is federal campaign finance violations. Bragg Should Focus on NYC crime, Not Trump - Never before in our nation’s history has a former President been indicted. Regardless of the merits of any charges, it’s likely that the only reason investigators focused on Trump in the first place is because of who he is. Based on the indictment and statement of facts, Bragg is essentially elevating New York state misdemeanor offenses for falsifying business records to low-level felony offenses by alleging that Trump (or others at his direction) falsified the business records “with the intent” to cover up other crimes. While these other crimes aren’t specified in the indictment itself, they are likely state and federal campaign finance violations. Yet, neither the Federal Election Commission nor the U.S. Justice Department, which are responsible for enforcing federal campaign finance laws, pursued charges based on the same conduct now at issue in this indictment. Furthermore, Bragg’s pursuit of this case stands in stark contrast to his pledge not to prosecute many other crimes, including most misdemeanors that occur within his jurisdiction. Heritage Expert: Zack Smith

Beating China in the Race for Quantum Supremacy - How the United States positions itself for success in the era of quantum computing, sensing, and encryption will have ramifications for the future of manufacturing, the development of medical cures, the national security needs of the military, the ability to protect information, and more. In addition, which country reaches quantum supremacy first will determine global power dynamics. The United States cannot allow power to be centralized in the hands of one actor, especially the Chinese Community Party. For the U.S. to lead in quantum technology, it must employ a whole-of-government and whole-of-industry approach alongside foreign allies and partners. While many challenges remain in bringing quantum technology to scale, the scientific race and outcome amongst nations, militaries, academia, and technology companies will define the 21st century. Joe Biden Has Failed To Keep America Safe - From the debacle of the Afghanistan withdrawal to the bungling of the Chinese spy balloon, this administration has conveyed nothing but incompetence, and there is no sign it has learned any lessons from these strategic blunders, opening the door for China, Russia, Iran and North Korea to put even bigger ones in motion. Biden Nominee Wants to hijack little-known agency to ram through climate agenda - Ann Carlson — an environmental law expert who Biden nominated in February to be National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) administrator — boasted in 2021 that she was recruited by the administration to oversee climate standards for cars and trucks, according to emails obtained by the watchdog group Government Accountability & Oversight (GAO) and shared with Fox News Digital. Biden doubles down on green energy as OPEC cuts production, prices soar - On Monday, after the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) announced massive oil production cuts, the White House issued a joint statement with the European Union reaffirming that clean energy adoption is critical for enhancing energy security. The statement was a status update on the U.S.-EU Task Force on Energy Security formed amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine last year. Heritage Expert: Jack Spencer and Mandy Gunasekara
