Hi John,

You're SO lion-hearted! Thanks to you, our 2022 Year of the Lion raised a fantastic £520,900 from appeals, adoptions and fundraising to rescue lions, stop exploitation and keep the symbolic species of Born Free safe in the wild.

FOUR SERVALS, ONE YEAR ON

But, last year wasn’t just about big cats. You also rehomed four LITTLE cats and, as you can see, they’re clearly flourishing in paradise – aka our facility at the Panthera Africa Sanctuary in South Africa.

HARMONY, NOT CONFLICT

Thanks for donating to our new End Wildlife Conflict appeal. We’ve already raised £40,000 and counting to help wild elephants, lions and tigers to peacefully co-exist with local people - but we still have a long way to reach our target.

Ten brown bear cubs have been rescued thanks to you – especially adopters. With your support, the baby bears are now undergoing expert care to prepare for release in the autumn.

MEET THE BORN FREE FAMILY WELL DONE DR MANOA!

We’re thrilled. Our Born Free Kenya colleague David Manoa has just received a PhD for his thesis on human-wildlife conflict. Manoa works full time as our Pride of Amboseli Manager, often in difficult circumstances, so this achievement is colossal.

THIS MONTH'S STAR FUNDRAISER

Our DIY fundraisers are at it again! California-based Sophie Kriefman swam an extraordinary 600 lengths in aid of Born Free. That’s an incredible six hours and 8.4 miles of swimming.

Thanks Sophie, you rock!
