John, this is a HUGE win for gun safety.
Judge Janet Protasiewicz's 11-point victory in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election last night was yet another proof point for the power of gun safety as a winning issue.
With extremist judges increasingly willing to dismantle established gun safety laws, state Supreme Courts are an important line of defense for many life-saving measures.
That's why Everytown went all-in on the race to fill a vacant seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. We invested $500,000 in a successful campaign to defeat Daniel Kelly, who had a terrible record on guns, and elect Janet Protasiewicz, a committed gun sense champion.
And we showed up in full force with our grassroots power: Our volunteers made over 100,000 phone calls to mobilize voters to help secure this critical victory for Judge Janet Protasiewicz.
We're celebrating more victories, too: Last night, eleven Moms Demand Action volunteers in Illinois and Wisconsin won their general elections for mayor, city council, school board, and other local offices!
Our grassroots power is truly changing the course of the movement to end gun violence in America—and proving once again that gun safety is a winning issue at the ballot box at all levels of government.
Fighting for gun safety in every single state would be impossible without our thousands of incredible volunteers. And when we're going toe-to-toe with the gun lobby, it requires a lot of financial resources, too—that's why we rely on grassroots donors to keep us going.
