96 Fellow Conservative,
We officially wrapped up the 2023 legislative session
last week, and I’m proud to report that we got numerous priorities
across the finish line.
It is my honor to serve hardworking Georgians
and lead the charge to build a safer, stronger Georgia — where
common-sense policies and opportunities prevail.
Here’s a rundown of
some of our most notable accomplishments this year:
I signed a budget
that reaffirms our commitment to help families weather the storm of
Bidenflation and keep our Georgia economy firing on all cylinders. We
returned $1 billion to taxpayers, authorized $950 million for homeowner
tax relief, and we’re investing in key priorities.
One of those key
priorities is school safety – we’re investing $115.7 million in our
public schools to keep Georgia kids safe.
We approved a $2,000 pay
raise for teachers and increased funding to recruit counselors.
We’ve
restored full funding for Georgia’s HOPE scholarships.
We’re investing
$92 million to help reduce health insurance premiums.
We’re investing
$35.7 million in rural housing development.
We banned TikTok on all
state devices.
And we're imposing tougher mandatory minimum sentences
for gang recruitment, cracking down on bail jumping, protecting our
children, and creating a commission to ensure prosecutors are doing
their jobs.
Thank you for your support this year, Fellow Conservative.
None
of these accomplishments would have been possible if we didn’t have
hardworking Georgians like you standing behind us!
Brian Kemp
Governor
of Georgia
P.S. We’re getting big things done – and we’re going to Keep
Choppin’ each and every day! Help sustain our efforts to keep Georgia
the best place in America to live, work, and raise a family.
