The immigration and border security debate in the U.S. has been a hot-button issue for years, and partisans on the left and right have been the loudest voices and the biggest barriers to progress. Some on the far left demand policies that effectively amount to open borders while others on the right want mass deportation.
But between those extremes there is broad agreement that America needs a well-functioning immigration system to ensure we continue to grow and prosper as a country. Currently, Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) are working on an immigration and border security bill that could present a bipartisan path forward on this tricky challenge.
