John,
First: Senate Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act capping out-of-pocket insulin costs for seniors on Medicare at $35 per month.
Then: Major drugmaker Eli Lilly followed suit and capped the cost of insulin at $35 for all Americans using their products.
Now: All three of the leading insulin producers in the U.S. have agreed to substantially reduce their prices for all users.
The implementation of these changes will allow millions of Americans to afford their essential medication, but there is still work to be done. It is time for drug makers across the country to follow our lead and make everyday medication affordable for all Americans.
This news is proof that Democrats are continuing to deliver results for all Americans.
But because so many Americans rely on everyday medications to survive or keep their families healthy, we cannot end this fight yet.
Thank you,
Team Durbin
