John, I've heard people saying that this new Barbie movie will be the hottest movie of the summer.

It probably won't come as a shock to learn that Barbie isn't quite up my alley. But as we all look ahead to what the summer will bring, from beach days to new movies, I can't stop thinking about how this will, in all likelihood, be the hottest summer we have ever had and the coldest winter we will ever have again.

I won't sugarcoat things here: We're running out of time to prevent an all-out climate catastrophe. The IPCC report from the U.N. has made it clear that this isn't a fight we can chip away at over the next few decades. We have to turn things around in a big way – and we have to do it as soon as possible.

As chair of the Environment and Public Works Committee, I was proud to work with President Biden to pass the Inflation Reduction Act. That legislation included a nearly $400 BILLION investment in clean energy. But right now, we're still not on track to stop climate change. We've got to do more and that can only happen if we hold our Democratic majority in the Senate.

But truthfully, defending our Senate majority is going to be an uphill battle. Election watchers are saying that the 2024 Senate map is even worse for Democrats than the 2022 map. It's going to take a huge grassroots effort to turn things around and save our majority. That's why I'm personally asking you to make a donation to invest in our Democratic majority and in the future of our planet.
