We are writing to you today to denounce the Tennessee Republicans taking steps to expel three Democratic members from the State House for their role in a gun control protest at the state Capitol following the school shooting which killed six people, including three nine-year-old students.

Resolutions have been filed against Reps. Gloria Johnson, Justin Jones, and Justin Pearson for their participation in the chants held on the House floor. With supporters in the gallery last Thursday, these leaders simply answered our students' pleas, John. These electeds stepped up in honor of the lives taken by this senseless violence. These three heroes took a stance on the preventable epidemic this nation has continued to accept as inevitable.

Gun violence is not inevitable. Gun violence can and must be stopped.
