The Georgia legislative session has officially come to a close!
We’re reflecting on just how much we accomplished last month with the support of voting rights activists like you, despite the obstacles anti-voter extremists continued to throw our way. Chip in to help Fair Fight Action stop future legislative attacks on the freedom to vote.
Despite these extremist attacks, we made major strides in our pro-voter movement:
→ Expanded voting access by giving employees time off to vote early through SB 129;
→ Thwarted extremist legislators’ effort to strengthen mass voter challenges;
→ Blocked extremist legislators’ attempts to eliminate drop boxes;
→ Saved Saturday voting during runoff elections;
→ Stopped a dangerous mass intimidation effort to livestream the faces of voters who used ballot drop boxes;
→ Prevented the legislature from giving conspiracy theorists their own independent election investigators to target election workers and voters of color;
→ Averted bad-faith attempts to remove oversight and accountability for prosecutors investigating allegations of election violations;
→ Stopped anti-voter attempts to make it easier to throw out mail ballots;
→ Once again ended conspiracy theorists' efforts to create never-ending sham election audits.
But our efforts to stop anti-voter attacks are far from over. Despite these major wins, the Georgia legislature rammed through the last-minute passage of voter suppression bill SB 222, which criminalizes election workers and county officials simply for attempting to fund the rising cost of elections. And this year, anti-voter extremism is on the rise across the country — in 2023, lawmakers have proposed over 150 voter suppression bills.
We have the power to stop this anti-democratic agenda in its tracks — together.
Pitch in $20 to ensure our team has the resources we need to be successful in the fight for voting rights in elections and legislative sessions to come.
Thank you for your continued support,
The Fair Fight Action Team
