The city of Austin can’t keep enough police officers to patrol the city as a result of the City Council voting to Defund the Police in 2020.
Meanwhile, if the radical left-wing activists get their way, San Antonio will soon turn into the next San Francisco. They’re pushing a city charter that could not only advance dangerous abortion and drug policies, but would also effectively decriminalize shoplifting, theft, and property damage while creating a new woke “City Justice Director” position.
Crime in Austin has, unsurprisingly, skyrocketed. Texas state troopers are being forced to step in to provide additional law enforcement support.
Back in the real world, the good people of San Antonio are facing an unacceptable increase in violent crime. Last year, crime increased by more than ten percent over the previous year.
The men and women of the Austin and San Antonio Police Departments deserve our support and deserve to be fully-funded — not more red tape or a designated woke bureaucrat at City Hall to demonize and demoralize them.
