Since last week's announcement that the former president had been indicted, there has been a lot of online chatter about and preparations for potentially violent protests in the streets.
Democrats believe in peaceful civil discourse, but right-wing extremists have our communities here in the Tri-State Region, and frankly, across the country, on edge. It’s a sad reality. But we can blunt the impact of extremism in our politics by electing pragmatic Democrats up and down the ballot.

Subject: Indictment Sarah,
In a democracy, no one is above the law. With the historic indictment of a former president, some are predicting violent protests, encouraged by Trump himself. His dangerous rhetoric threatens the rule of law once again. But it shouldn’t be this way.
Democrats believe that no one is above the law and peaceful protest is a fundamental right in a healthy democracy. As we all address what it means for the first former president to be charged with a crime, we must also stand up against the conspiracy-driven threats and violence that are now hallmarks of the MAGA right.
Please stand with us today by making a contribution of any amount. |
Right-wing extremism is on the march across the country, fomented by the former president’s thinly veiled calls for political violence. It happened in Charlottesville. It happened on January 6th. And it could happen here in the Tri-State Region… soon.
We must remember that it’s through robust conversation and respecting the democratic process that we deliver results for our communities. The former president’s dangerous calls for protest in the streets serve no one but himself and extremists in our country.
Your contribution today helps your Connecticut Democrats advance the belief in peaceful civil discourse and reject political violence perpetuated by extremists.
Can we count on you to chip in today? Thank you,
CT Dems
