John,
In the months following the fall of Kabul, our nation welcomed tens and
thousands of Afghan evacuees to our communities. Many of them are
incredible individuals who worked with the U.S. to support our efforts
in Afghanistan - pilots, engineers, translators, doctors, software
engineers, among other professionals.
I had the incredible opportunity to meet and work with many of these
individuals when I helped lead a workforce development program through
Upwardly Global for the eight military bases and Operation Allies
Welcome. We helped to ensure that the over 80,000 newcomers arriving had
access to tools and training to restart their careers in the United
States. We offered access to job readiness resources and volunteers to
begin their job search in the U.S.
By now, most of them have been resettled and have begun putting down
roots and building a new life across the nation. For many, however,
their future is still uncertain.

Afghan Adjustment Act. Will you support our end-of-quarter fundraising

Countless evacuees were only granted temporary permission to remain in
the U.S. for two years, although the administration is likely to
temporarily extend their stays. But without any clear path to permanent
residency, Afghan evacuees are forced to live in legal limbo. Congress
can resolve this issue by reintroducing and passing the Afghan
Adjustment Act, a bill that would give Afghans already in the United
States a clear pathway to permanent residence while expanding upon
ongoing efforts to protect Afghan allies left behind - and providing
them needed certainty.
**We're pushing Congress for the swift reintroduction and passage of
this bill. Will you chip in today and support our efforts to continue
this critical work?**

Your generous support today will help our team continue to do the
critical work of getting this bill reintroduced and passed and give our
Afghan allies and their families the much-needed safety and stability
needed to live their lives. We're meeting with members of Congress and
their staff, building coalitions with like-minded partners and allies,
drafting policy resources, running digital ads, and mobilizing our
constituencies.
Afghan evacuees have given so much to this country and our communities.
Our Afghan allies and their families can't continue to live in this
state of uncertainty - they need a pathway to permanent resident
status.
**With your generous support today, we can continue to put pressure on
Congress to support legislation like the Afghan Adjustment Act. Make a
generous gift today and support our end-of-quarter fundraising
efforts!**
