That means facing the impossible 'choice' of continuing to work or providing care for our loved ones. For too many it means choosing between paying for care or paying the rent on time.

This is urgent. Each year, four million children are born, and another four million people turn 65, and there's just not enough care workers to help.

Combined with a sustained lack of government investment, we're rocketing towards a care crisis. So in two weeks, care workers from across the country will sound the alarm at our inaugural Care Workers Can't Wait Summit.

Domestic workers, the majority of whom are low-income women of color and immigrants, are too often stuck working in the shadows. But with the White House declaring April Care Workers Recognition Month, the spotlight is at long last shining on domestic workers – and this summit is an incredibly powerful way to maximize this moment.

By creating a national stage with an audience of influential lawmakers, including Senator Tammy Duckworth and Rep. Pramila Jayapal, care workers will get the spotlight to speak with one voice and assert the rights, dignity, and respect they deserve.

Domestic workers are powerful, and know how to win. For years, we have seen how incredible and powerful it can be for the movement when they get the chance to come together.

Our hope is that the summit will catapult these incredible women into success bringing renewed energy, strength, and focus to tackling the care crisis.
