Dear friend,
Sports have a powerful way of bringing people together.
The joy, unity, and team spirit that comes with sports makes it one of the
key ways that Mercy Corps helps build community around the world.

Participants practice basketball drills in our Sport for Change program in
Mali.
In Liberia, for example, Mercy Corps has enrolled more
than 4,600 young people in sports clubs — with 56% young women
participants. The participants in these clubs have built vital life skills
like communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership, in an area
that has limited educational and economic opportunity. Sports have also
played a powerful role in helping youth heal from years of political
conflict.
Learn about our sports programs in Liberia, Mali, Nepal, and Jordan on our
website.
