In this moment, tell Biden to scrap his unlawful asylum ban plans.

ACLU Supporter –

Last week, at least 38 people in a Ciudad Juárez immigrant detention center were killed in a fire.

They were among thousands forced to wait in Mexico for a chance to request protection under U.S. laws. Appalling video footage of the detention center in Ciudad Juárez shows guards leaving migrants to burn behind bars.

U.S. policies played an unmistakable role in this horrific tragedy. Our government uses policies like Title 42 to keep people from seeking asylum – returning them to the danger they fled or stranding them in unfamiliar cities in Mexico, where they face further harm.

Yet, President Biden has recently proposed a new asylum ban to be implemented in May – a ban that is directly modeled on Trump policies that the ACLU challenged in court – that would only further entrench this harm.

That's why we must continue pushing back. In this moment, tell President Biden not to move forward with his unlawful asylum ban.

Take Action
<[link removed]>

ACLU Supporter, President Biden can no longer deny the inhumanity of these policies and tactics after this heartbreaking fire. To continue forward with his plans to implement a new cruel asylum ban would be unconscionable.

We must speak out: People fleeing danger deserve to be met with dignity and humanity – not denied the opportunity to seek safety or detained in detention centers, which are inherently abusive and dangerous anywhere.

Please, take action with us now and tell the Biden administration to scrap these plans. Lives are on the line.
