I’m the Director of Research Science here at The Trevor Project. So, I spend my days leading the development, analysis, and translation of our research findings.
But I never forget the faces behind the facts and figures — LGBTQ young people who may not get the affirmation, dignity, and love they need from their families and communities.
I know that you, a member of the Trevor community, care about LGBTQ young people facing anxiety, depression, or feeling overwhelmed. Please reaffirm your commitment to creating a world where they are welcomed and loved. Make your gift today.
It’s amazing when Trevor’s findings lead to life-saving action. For example, President Biden’s June 2022 Executive Order, which advanced LGBTQ-affirming policies, cited our data to demonstrate the need to protect LGBTQ young people.
But at the state level, legislators are pushing record numbers of anti-LGBTQ bills and laws. And they’re taking a toll.
Our January 2023 poll found that because of these policies — and the platform they've provided for ugly public debates to spread — 45% of transgender young people experienced cyberbullying in the past year.
