We are thrilled to announce three new exciting keynote speakers ([link removed]) at the inaugural Summit for Religious Freedom (SRF) on April 22-24! Our keynote sessions, which will be available to people attending SRF in person in Washington, D.C., and virtually, include:

— Dr. Bradley Onishi, the co-host of the “Straight White American Jesus” podcast (which also will be broadcasting live at SRF), and author of Preparing for War: The Extremist History of White Christian Nationalism – And What Comes Next. Brad will be joined by panelist Andrew L. Seidel from AU. Together, they will connect Christian Nationalist attempts to restrict voting rights, reproductive rights, and institute Christian supremacy in the public square.

— Katherine Stewart, who writes about religion and politics for a wide variety of publications and is the author of several books, including The Power Worshippers: Inside the Dangerous Rise of Religious Nationalism. Katherine will be joined by AU President and CEO Rachel Laser and the Rev. Traci Blackmon, a plaintiff in our Missouri abortion ban lawsuit. They will dive into the rise of recent attacks on abortion and gender equality, and how fighting for church-state separation is part of the solution.

— Kierra Johnson, the executive director of the National LGBTQ Task Force. Kierra is a national expert on queer and reproductive rights issues and has testified in front of the U.S. House of Representatives and has appeared in Newsweek, The New York Times, Fox News, Feministing and National Public Radio. Kierra will be joined by the Rev. Alex McNeill, a member of AU’s Faith Advisory Council, and former AU Youth Organizing Fellow Ranen Miao to shed light on the coordinated attacks on the LGBTQ+ community, especially on those who are transgender; the role of Christian Nationalism and right-wing extremists; and the coordinated war on our progressive values.
