As you know, we're in the process of building out the WV Can't Wait strategy for 2024. In that spirit, I wanted to ask you for some recommendations. Thanks for taking the time to consider this request. WV Can't Wait is built on personal relationships and connections.
?
We're looking for three kinds of folks.
?
First, do you know any candidates who are thinking about running in 2023? Morgantown, Princeton, Weston, Charles Town, and a few other places have 2023 elections coming up. If there are 2023 pro-labor, no-corporate-cash candidates you believe in, we'd love to help them.
?
Second, are there any local elected officials you recommend? We've got 24 WV Can't Wait folks in office right now, but we are always on the lookout for more school board members, county commissioners, city councilors, and other folks who are on the side of the people. Even if they don't have an election anytime soon, we can help them through our governance program -- which offers free policy research, communications help, access to our movement safety program, and on-going training and camaraderie alongside other elected officials. It's tough being a brave local elected official. By taking the time to refer someone, we can help provide them the resources and support they need.
?
Finally, I'd love to hear about 2024 candidates that you're tracking. (Or maybe you're thinking of running yourself!)
?
If anybody comes to mind, would you do me a favor and reply to this email to let me know their name, office, and contact information. I'd love to reach out to them and see if they might be interested in working with us.?
?
Our maybe you don't know any of these folks right now, but you want to find other ways to help out. You can donate here: wvcantwait.com/donate. Or drop me a line, and I guarantee we can find some way to work together.
?
In solidarity,
?
