Dear friend,
In a moment, I’m going to ask if you’ll pitch in a few bucks towards our January fundraising deadline. But before I do, I’d like to talk about a critical issue here in Mississippi: healthcare.
If you’re ready to cut to the chase and chip in to our campaign, you can do so here >>
Last week, a survey from Millsaps College -- the same poll that showed sitting Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith’s approval rating below 50% and our campaign just 9 points shy of winning the general election -- revealed that Mississippi voters are most concerned about medical costs and want their leaders to finally do something about it.
A whopping 70 percent of Mississippians said healthcare access and affordability is their top priority in 2020, with 60 percent of voters polled in support of Medicaid expansion, which has yet to happen here under Republican leadership.
Mississippi is one of just 14 states to refuse $1 billion in aid for Medicaid expansion, which in turn has hurt our low-income residents, the uninsured, and our hospitals.
I agree with my fellow members of the Magnolia State: healthcare is of the utmost priority, and it’s about time those in power do everything possible to make it more affordable and accessible to Mississippians across the state.
If we can build what it takes to win our U.S. Senate race this year, know that I will fight tirelessly for a healthcare system that works for every Mississippian and American. But the only way that happens is with your support here and now.
In just two days, we face our first monthly fundraising deadline of 2020. Will you pitch in whatever you can to help us reach our goal so I can fight for your healthcare in the Senate?
